



Stephen Bernhardt
Since 1995, Stephen has led more than 125 searches in manufacturing, equipment distribution, higher education, financial services and healthcare. He founded Bernhardt Browne & Associates in 2002 and leads the firm’s Equipment Distribution and Education Administration practices. Stephen earned a BA degree from Davidson College in 1985 and Master of Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business (UNC-Chapel Hill) in 1989. Before entering the executive search business, he managed various manufacturing operations for American & Efird, Inc., a division of Ruddick Corporation, and ran one of the company’s foreign subsidiaries (Sydney, Australia). Stephen began his career in manufacturing in the San Francisco area and in Regensburg, Germany. He is married with two children and enjoys playing various sports, gardening and reading.

Gilbert Browne
Gilbert Browne joined Bernhardt Browne as a Partner in 2003 and leads the firm’s Power Generation and Real Estate practices. Before entering the executive search business in 1998, he worked for Bank of America as a Trust Officer and for Tuscarora Yarns in sales. Gilbert earned his BA and MBA degrees from UNC-Chapel Hill where he played on the junior varsity and varsity tennis teams. Married with two children, he enjoys tennis as well as hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
